Physics of condensed matter and adv. materials (LPM)
The main interest of the LPM is focused on condensed matter with an emphasis on soft materials and their derivates.
We study a wide range of effects like phase transitions, interphases, structural formation and surface properties.
These topics raise highly interesting fundamental question and strike pressing technical problems.
For deep exploration of these questions we make use of static as well as dynamic properties and structural resolving methods.
The objects of our research range from cross-linked polymer systems (epoxy, polyurethanes, silicon, rubber), over porous glasses (Vycor) and inorganic nanoparticules (SiC, Al203, SiO2) to biological gels (gelatin) and combinations thereof
