Henri Sneessens completed his PhD in Economics at CORE , Université catholique de Louvain in 1980. He was lecturer at the London School of Economics  (1980-82) and professor  of economics at the Université catholique de Lille (1982-85), before moving back to Louvain where he became full professor in 1993. He was chairman of IRES,  the research centre of the economics department in 1994-1998 and 2004-2007. From 2003-2007, he was also head of the Economics Department. Henri Sneessens is Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Luxembourg since 2009.
