Charitable Organizations visit LCSB

Members of the two charitable organisations Association Parkinson Luxembourg and the Fondation Jean Think visited the LCSB on December 9, 2011 and achieved detailed information on the research activities of LCSB and its major field of expertise ‘Parkinson’s Disease’.

The group was welcomed by Rudi Balling, Director of the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine. Prof. Balling gave a short presentation of the structure and the research fields of the scientists working at the university’s centre. Dr. Nico Diederich, clinical senior researcher at LCSB and neurologist at the CHL hospital in Luxembourg offered results of the latest research from the field of Parkinson’s Disease.

The 15 visitors also took a guided tour through the laboratories of the LCSB, observing the scientists working in their brand new research labs, equipped with the most modern scientific tools, like mass spectrometers or high performance microscopes.
